Our Curriculum
 

Early Inspirations Nursery operates within the EYFS framework.

Each room offers a range of continuous provision allowing children to explore and develop their experiences and learning skills at their own pace.

 

What is the EYFS?

The EYFS is a curriculum for 0 to 5 year olds, which is the foundation for learning before a child enters year 1 of primary school. The EYFS is taught in primary schools at reception age as well as in nurseries. There are four guiding principles that shape our teaching practice at Early Inspirations, these are;

• Every child is a unique child

• Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships

• Children learn and develop well in enabling environments

• Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.

 

The EYFS is made up of seven areas of learning and development.

Three specific areas: -

1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development

2. Communication and Language

3. Physical Development

And four prime areas

  4. Understanding the World

  5. Expressive Arts and Design

  6. Maths

  7. Literacy

 

At Early Inspirations we deliver the EYFS by gathering information from the parents about the child’s likes, dislikes, strengths, areas for development and interests. Our experienced practitioners then observe and assess the child and plan next steps for the child, based on the child’s interests. At the end of each term the staff assess each child to ensure they are making good progress and reaching their developmental milestones. If staff or parents are concerned our experienced staff team will act swiftly to ensure any gaps in learning are closed.

 

We plan and provide a wide and varied variety of activities which are specifically tailored to the children’s interests. Practitioners are flexible throughout the day and follow the child’s lead. There are opportunities for key group time and individual self-selected activities promoting social interaction and self-confidence.
